Black Female Software Engineering Pipeline
Black Female Software Engineering Pipeline
Through the Black Women Software Engineering Pipeline Fellowship (BWSEPF) we are paving the way for future generations to reach their career goals by providing mentoring, motivation, guidance, and expertise. The BWSEFP will focus on three actionable objectives. These three initiatives include:
Career guidance and advancement
Networking skills and professionalism
Professional support and discussion from similar identities in the field
One-on-one mentorship will be implemented by deliberately matching a mentor with a mentee throughout the mentee’s career development process. While this fellowship focused on software engineering, ideally for women who are beginning their career in the field, this is open to all women postgraduate and early career who are interested in the STEM field. Group mentorship will also be implemented through various workshops, discussions, and networking sessions to discuss career advancement, common issues Black women face in the field, interview preparation, job opportunities, and helpful tips in succeeding in the job and industry.
